A back water valve does an important job morning, noon, and night, and most of us are unaware of that job being performed.
There are certain things we, as citizens of any town or city, take for granted. When we turn on a light switch, we expect the light to turn on. When we put the garbage on the curb, we expect it to be picked up the next morning. And when we turn on the tap for a drink of water, we expect unpolluted water to spill out of the faucet.
We expect, and receive, clear water because of backwater valves and the function they perform. Backwater valves, also known as back flow preventers, must be inspected annually by a licensed backflow testing company like City Backflow Testing.
