The Febco 825Y is a reduced pressure zone assembly used to protect again backflow in water service areas to industrial plants, hospitals, mortuaries and chemical plants.  It is also used in irrigation systems, water lines and other water installations where the maximum protection against backflow is needed.

Backflow occurs, most commonly, when there is a sudden loss in water pressure.  With the pressure loss, water will reverse flow, potentially sending polluted water back into the main water supply.  The Febco 825Y prevents this from happening.
