Backflow testing is required each year to make sure your back flow devices are working properly. Backflow, as many of you know, is the situation where there is a sudden drop in water pressure from the city water supply to your home, causing contaminated water to flow backwards into the water supply. To prevent that from happening, back flow devices, otherwise known as backflow preventers, are installed and regularly tested.
Back flow devices are usually a valve or a series of valves that stop unwanted flow of water, so annual testing and maintenance is crucial to protect the potable water supply.
