A backflow preventer valve is used to stop water from flowing in reverse direction through your pipes. Backflow usually occurs when there is a sudden decrease in water pressure in the pipes and can result in contaminated water flowing from a building back into the city’s potable water supply.
The Backflow Preventer Valve senses a reverse flow in water or sewage within the pipe and closes the line so that the condition can be automatically stopped, thus ensuring that contaminated water never enters the water supply.
